The Dallas Cowboys will play Sunday's game at Indianapolis in navy, and the home team will be the one in white. In its Week 9 uniform roundup, ESPN reported that Dallas will wear a white helmet, navy jersey and white pants at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts are going with white helmets, white jerseys and white pants, which ESPN called a rare home white-out.

The Eagles' Kelly Green throwbacks and the Chargers' all-navy "Super Chargers" set got the headlines this week. For Dallas, the news is the color clash. The Cowboys usually wear white at AT&T Stadium, so a road game against an all-white home team is one of the few times this season both sides will look this different. Athlon Sports also lists the Cowboys in navy socks and the arctic white helmet. Athlon reports that Adam Amin and Drew Brees will call the game on Fox, with Kristina Pink on the sideline and Clay Martin as referee. Athlon says Martin's crew has averaged about 12.2 accepted penalties per game through Week 8, below the league average of 14.6.

The uniforms matter less than the standings. Dallas is 3-5 after the 33-30 overtime loss to Arizona, and Brian Schottenheimer's team has little room left in the NFC race.

What it means for Sunday at Indianapolis

The Cowboys have alternated wins and losses lately. They're 2-3 over their last five games, with road wins at Houston (34-30) and Philadelphia (38-21) and losses to Tampa Bay, Green Bay and Arizona. Dallas has played better away from home. The Cowboys are 2-2 on the road and 1-3 at home, and three of their four home games ended in losses decided by eight points or fewer.

The scoring numbers explain why so many Dallas games are close. Through eight games the Cowboys have scored 219 points and allowed 213. That works out to about 27.4 points scored and 26.6 allowed per game, a combined average near 54. Five of their eight games have gone past 51.5 total points. Indianapolis comes in at 2-6, according to Athlon, but still has Jonathan Taylor running the ball.

On this site's board, 12 venues are pricing the game, and Dallas is favored on the road. Novig has the Cowboys at -212 on the moneyline and the Colts at +203. Novig's spread is Dallas -4.5 at -102 on both sides. The best Colts number anywhere is +5.5 at -115 on FanDuel, so the venues are a full point apart on the spread. Novig has the total at 51.5, with the over at -106 and the under at even money. The highest total on the board is 52 at Fanatics, priced at -110 on the under. Sportsbook hold runs from 3.6% to 4.9% on the moneyline and from 3.1% to 5.2% on the spread. All prices are on the game page.

The schedule gets harder after Indianapolis. San Francisco visits on November 15, and the 49ers are already favored at -208 on Novig. Dallas is +174 there, and Kalshi has the best price on the Cowboys at +181. A win in Indianapolis would get Dallas to 4-5 before that game. A loss would drop the Cowboys to 3-6 with the 49ers next. Season results and schedule are on the Cowboys team page.
